About School
Established in 1970
The school was initially started as a Senior Basic School. But in January, 1970, the school was renamed as Ramakrishna Mission Boys’ Home Junior High School. The current school building was inaugurated by revered Swami Vireswaranandaji Maharaj, tenth president of Ramakrishna Math and Mission, Belur.
Now the students from classes V to VIII are taught. The current roll strength of the school is 636 and there are eighteen permanent and ten part-time teachers entrusted in the task of imparting lessons to the taught. There are three categories of students a) Day Scholars b) Ashram Scholars c) Hostel Scholars. The first category of students constitutes the bulk of the students. The second category of students comprises the ones who are orphans, destitutes and tribals receiving education free of cost staying at the Boys’ Home campus. The third category of students is admitted through Admission Test.
The sprawling school campus includes a large, green and grassy playground and a few flower gardens. The large school building houses a well-equipped library, a decent laboratory and a computer room. The school arranges co-curricular activities and programmes all across and around the year. These include debate and drama, music, elocution and recitation. In addition, 13 sections publish wall magazines every year. An annual magazine namely ‘Nirmalya’ is brought out every year. The school also annually arranges excursions for students and staff as well.
